How could she survive the deadly nuclear radiation?

In July 23rd, we are going to hold a lecture-talk seminar at the Japan C.I. under the theme of “How Could she survive the nuclear radiation? ”

Mrs. Sawako Hiraga was exposed to the nuclear radiation at the age of 8 when she lived in Hiroshima. Her whole family, including her father-in-law, her husband, her little sisters became victims of the nuclear bomb. They all passed away in the end, except for herself.

After the exposure, she ate Umeboshi (pickled plum) over and over again just instinctively. Other victims who didn't eat so many of umeboshi all died.

After a while, she faced the very fact that she was a victim of the radiation. Since her face was totally messed up, her parents tried not to let her see her own face in the mirror. The scar on her face was that bad. She told herself that she might never be able to get married with anybody.

So, she decided to go to college and majored in Physics to study nuclear radiation effects. It, however,  resulted in vain. No good enough answer was attainable.

One day, she came across some books of George Ohsawa. It was such an overwhelming story that right after her finishing reading, she immediately started No.7 Diet in an experimental basis to cure her exposure damage.

Unbelievably, after so many years passed, the mess on her face from the exposure was totally cured as the result of experiments and practices of macrobiotics.

Now she enjoys her joyful life with her 7 children and 14 grandchildren.

She says in retrospect, “Had it not been for the experiences of the nuclear radiation exposure and all the sufferings,  I would not have studied, not have got married and never have had an opportunity to meet George and Lima Ohsawa. I strongly believe that macrobiotic way of life has led so far and will lead from now on to the true peace and happiness for the whole world. After all it cured myself!!”

The seminar is scheduled to be held on July 23rd at Japan C.I. from 10am to 12am with cost of 3000 yen. For further info on it, Check out here.

G.O.Archive

We are now working on creating our very first complete archive of George Ohsawa.

As the macrobiotics has regain momentum in the past several years with the welcome of the new chairman Yasuhiko Katsumata since the grief-stricken pass-away of Lima Ohsawa, we have become aware more than anytime before of the urgent need to present the general public with the trust-worthy accurate information on the history of the Japan C.I. and the unprecedented works of GO.

The unveil of the archive is scheduled in the mid June, and the content within it will be updated day by day.

Feldenkrais Method @ CI

Hello, there.

We're gonna have the Feldenkrais Method seminar at C.I. on April 10th (sun) , from 10 am to 12am.The seminar is provided by Mrs.Tenko Endo. She graduates from Lima Cooking School  with Shihan grade.

The Fledenkaris Method is a bodywork in which we move our body through very simple movements.

We all tend to have stress and disease resulting from ignoring what our body and heart tell us.

In practicing the Method, we move our body while paying  attention to ourselves. Through the movement, we try to gain access to our body and our nerve system in the brain. We keep on learning, like babies do,  basic and functional movements of the human being without age differences.

As we keep practicing this method, we will cultivate a comfortable and flexible body, enriched sensitivity, and self-confidence toward ourselves.

For more info on Feldenkrais, check out this site, too.

Notice:
This seminar IS held at C.I., but NOT hosted by C.I.
We C.I. staff will not contact with any inquiry regarding this seminar.

Dec 25th, 2010 - Last class this year for the beginners

Today was the last class this year for the beginners at Lima Cooking School (LCS).

December is always one of the busiest months in a year, and was actually very busy this year, too.

Seeing many students had improved their skills in terms of both cooking of and ideas for Macrobiotics made us very happy for and proud of them.

We really wish them to keep on cooking Macrobiotics and bring home much more happiness through Macrobiotics way of life.

There have also been many Open Cooking Seminars held in Dec.

Just before the Christmas Eve, we had Soba cooking seminar at the Shinjuku School.

Every seat was full !!

It'd not be too much to say that owed to those attendants who wished to spend their New Year's Eve with their home-made Soba !?

Sep 12th, 2010 - Macrobiotics for the beginners

Once a month, we hold "The Macrobiotics for the beginners" seminar for those who are new to Macrobiotics and want to take in its idea & way of life to their daily lives.
Each seminar is lectured by a Macrobiotics Instructor, who is a graduate student with the title of "Instructor" of LIMA Cooking Academy. The name "LIMA", of course, stands for Lima Sakurazawa, but it also implies "Life of Macrobiotics".
In the seminar, you can inform yourself of the basic ideas of  "What is Macrobiotics?". You may also have a chance to eat  "Genmai", or so-called brown rice, and  "Miso soup".
Each seminar is surely unique for the participants because the content of what each lecturer tells is consistent in terms of general introduction of Macrobiotics but at the same time is vary in terms of the story being told based on their background experience and knowledge about Macrobiotics.
So, getting to know each instructor itself would certainly be fun and informative.
Why not knocking on the door into Macrobiotic way of life today !!

Aug 19th, 2010 - Yoga

Yoga has its long history not only worldwide but at C.I.
Some scholars say it could be traced its beginnings back to Stone Age Shamanism. Back then there seemed to be similarity between Yoga and Shamanism in light of both being focused on improving human conditions.
At C.I. so far as I know right now, the present Yoga teacher, Mikiyoshi Moriyama, who by the way hosts kutsurogi koubou, which helps people pursue a nature-oriented way of life. Mr. Moriyama has been a Yoga teacher for almost more than 15 years, and also been teaching Yoga at C.I. for more than 5 years. Check out the sites below for further info on the history of Yoga and Yoga at C.I.
